Engineering Manager - Electronics Manufacturing - with Growth Opportunities

Summary

Prime Technological Services, a contract manufacturer located in North Florida is recruiting for an Engineering Manager to work in our Florida operation. Responsible for Process Support and Product Evaluation functions.  You are responsible to provide daily direction to the Engineering Team as well as working collaboratively with Quality and Production Departments.  This position reports to the GM. 

Essential Functions

·       Designing and implementing robust manufacturing processes, test processes, equipment, and plans.

·       Understand tooling and tooling dies and fixture designs and implementation in an electronic manufacturing factory.

·       Provide daily, weekly, monthly reports on the effectiveness and efficiency of the Manufacturing Engineering function.

·       Provide Test and Technical information to the Quotation Process for new business opportunities.

·       Provide technical consultation to customers to improve manufacturability and testability.

·       Provide analytical information to manufacturing and other departments in order to initiate process improvement.

·       Evaluate product manufacturability and testability prior to new product introductions.

·       Monitor product workmanship and compliance independent of, and in addition to, planned internal quality assurance inspections.

·       Directly supervises all Engineers in the Engineering Department.

·       This position carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.

·       Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Education and/or Experience

Bachelor’s Degree from four-year University; plus 5-7 years experience or any combination of education and training. This position requires extensive experience in Electronic Manufacturing, Surface Mount Technology (SMT) and Through Hole Technology (THT). Must have proven experience with all of the following: SMT including BGA processes and THT manufacturing equipment, processes, programming and maintenance. In depth knowledge of ICT, functional test and flying probe test, conformal coating and wave solder. Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing and Six-Sigma concepts and implementation is necessary.
