Job Description - Engineering Manufacturing Technician - (3rd Shift)

Eaton\u2019s IS VEH VGNA division is currently seeking a Engineering Manufacturing Technician - (3rd Shift). \n\nThe hourly rate for this position is $31.10 + .50 shift differential per hour. \nThis position is also eligible for a variable incentive program.\n\nPlease note the salary information shown above is a general guideline only. Salaries are based upon candidate skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations. \n\nCore hours for this role are 10:30pm - 7:00am.\n\nEaton announced, on January 26, 2026, the intent to separate its Mobility Group (including both the Vehicle and eMobility segments) into an independent, publicly traded company. We expect to complete the separation by the end of the first quarter of 2027. The compensation and benefits that will initially be offered for this position are based on Eaton\u0027s plans, programs and practices. If you are offered and accept this position and are actively employed by the Mobility Group when the spinoff closes, the new company will provide further details to employees concerning compensation and benefits at that time.\n\n## What you\u2019ll do:\n\nJob Summary \nThe Engineering technician will be responsible to maintain, trouble shoot, improve and repair plant and production equipment at the facility. Work may be either scheduled or unplanned. It includes corrective, preventative, predictive and project engineering/maintenance work. Work with Engineering, Maintenance and Operations on work assignments and priorities. Document work completed and communicate work progress and completion with Engineering and Operations as required. Work should be performed with little guidance, and with a high degree of proficiency. \n\n\nJob Responsibilities \n \n\u2022 Actively participate in lean/5S/continuous improvement activities related to the facility as needed. \n\u2022 Work with outside contractors on various plant projects and repairs \n\u2022 Confers with operations to observe, inspect machinery determining root causes of malfunction while performing diagnostic checks. Remove, replace, or repair worn or defective parts, align components, safely returning equipment to operational status in minimum time required. \n\u2022 Work from complex diagrams, schematics, prints, work orders, and comply with specifications as required. \n\u2022 Maintain and repair various types of production equipment including, but not limited to, grinders, CNC machines, assembly equipment, furnaces, washers, weld machines, conveyance, fans, motors, pumps, and inspection equipment. \n\u2022 Test-run repaired machinery and equipment to verify adequacy of repairs. \n\u2022 Fabricate replacement parts \n\u2022 Use all tools and measuring instruments familiar to the trade. \n\u2022 Able to contribute to design modifications and improvements to equipment. \n\u2022 Actively identifies and implements projects regarding cost reduction across the plant. \n\u2022 Assumes responsibility for the planning, oversight, and completion of projects, overseeing progress, schedule, and overall budget. \n\u2022 Support manufacturing by assisting electronic technicians in troubleshooting and repairing complex electrical and electronic equipment. \n\u2022 Evaluate and improve manufacturing process work instructions and electrical/electronic drawings. Maintain electrical and electronic drawings, ladder logic diagrams, computer program listings, and other documentation using AutoCAD computer program. \n\u2022 Recommend and review preventive maintenance programs, gauging systems, and machine controllers. Complete equipment proposals and purchases for these types of programs and systems\n\n## Qualifications:\n\nBasic Requirements: \n\n * High School Diploma or GED from an accredited institution\n * Minimum 1-3 years of maintenance experience or similar role\n\n\n\nPreferred Qualifications: \n\n\u2022 Awareness of the work impact to ISO 14001 regulations \n\u2022 Ability to program PLCs in at least two languages \n\u2022 Associates degree in Industrial Maintenance, Tool and Die, or Mechatronics is preferred\n\nAdditional Skills: \n\n\u2022 Must be able to lift up to 35 lbs \n\u2022 Ability to use hand tools, strong math skills, ability to read and edit blueprints, and perform SPC charting \n\u2022 Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, etc.)\n\nWe are committed to ensuring equal employment opportunities for all job applicants and employees.
