Overview
The Engineering Subject Matter Expert (SME) supports Air Mobility Operations Wing (AMOW) and Air Mobility Command (AMC) engineering and mission operations projects as part of our company’s on-site engineering team to assist across a wide variety of AMOW projects, providing Planning, Programming, Engineering, Production Control, Inspection, and Project Management support. The position will support review of design work for repair, construction, renovation, and improvement projects.
Required Experience, Education, Skills, Abilities:
- Must be a US Citizen.
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited school in a relevant degree is mandatory.
- Advanced Degree from an accredited school in a relevant degree, preferable.
- Active Professional Engineering (or architect) license, preferable.
- 10 years’ experience within the last 15 years, focusing on engineering project programmingand management.
- Preferably includes familiarity with the DoD related MILCON Program, Asset Management principles and FSRM Program Business Rules.
- Experience with facility-related data systems (e.g., TRIRIGA/NexGen, GEOBASE, Builder, etc.).
- AFIMSC and/or AFCEC experience is a plus, but not required.
- Air Force Base level and Major Command (AMC preferable) level experience is a plus.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a US Air Force NACI/SF85 for unescorted access to controlled areas.
- Excellent communication, computer, and data management skills required.
- Demonstrated professional-level ability to work with engineers, contracting, contractors, andend-users to collect data, present findings, and recommend alternative courses of action.
- Excellent collaboration skills required. Must expertly and proficiently coordinate with base and head quarters level Civil Engineering entities.
- Can work efficiently with limited daily supervision.
- Must pass pre-employment qualifications.
Responsibilities Include:
- Acquisition support. Work closely with the Headquarters AMC (Scott Air Force Base), AMOW (Hickam AFB, Hawaii), and the Contracting Officer Representative (COR) and/or appropriate Contracting Officers to provide technical advice and helps manage projects supporting Civil Engineering and other stakeholders in the Pacific Theater of Operations.
- AMOW (AMC) MILCON and FSRM (O&M) contractor support as necessary. In concert with the team, duties include project programming (Air Force), preparing Statement of Work (SOW) packages and cost estimates (to include Independent Government Estimates), andprocessing contracting (contractor) submittals.
- Will assist with project programming, assessments, planning, and deliverable execution in support of Civil Engineering (includes other customers) and A&E contractor, as needed.
- Analyze drawings/designs andcheck for compliance with Unified Facilities Criteria Code (UFC) and appropriate buildingcodes (US Federal and local).
- Projects include vertical(structures) and horizontal (pavements) requirements.
- COR support. Work with the AMOW (AMC) Team, COR and the Civil Engineering Units to receive and manage deliverables, review invoices, manage files, proactively reply to issues and emails as requested by the COR. Provides recommendations to the government regarding project management, as requested.
- Facilitates MILCON and FSRM (O&M) related project meetings with other contractors andinternal government clients; present recommendations to leadership. Meetings also include stakeholder facilitation and site-specific visits, etc.
- Coordinates engineering project related meetings with AMC, AMOW, AMOG (Air MobilityOperations Group), and other appropriate stakeholders.
- Travels to AMOW (AMOG) locations to coordinate and provide multi-disciplinary engineering support for projects.
