Eaton\u2019s ES AMER ARS division is currently seeking a Engineering Supervisor - Maintenance of Line. The position will be based at our facility in Sumter, SC.\n\nThe expected annual salary range for this role is $113000 - $165000 a year. This position is also eligible for a variable incentive program.\n\nPlease note the salary information shown above is a general guideline only. Salaries are based upon candidate skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations. \n\n## What you\u2019ll do:\n\nTo support the development, implementation, and upkeep of standardized product designs and assembly processes. The supervisor applies technical knowledge to troubleshoot design\u2011related issues, guides teams in following established standards, and contributes to continuous improvement efforts that enhance product quality, reliability, and cost\u2011effectiveness. By maintaining accurate documentation, coordinating with cross\u2011functional groups, and assisting with training activities, they help ensure smooth and consistent integration of standardized products into production operations.\n\nThis Engineering Supervisor is also responsible for supporting each of the nineteen Panelboard and Switchboard operational sites (Sumter, Juarez, El Paso, and 16 Satellites) with regard to the design accuracy of existing products and the launch of new features.\n\nESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: \n\n * Product line engineering liason for all plants and satellites\n * Support manufacturing facilities with product-related codes and standards (UL, NEC, CSA, NEMA, CANENA) expertise.\n * Oversee prompt replies for all plant requests and ensure that best practices are consistently applied and maintained.\n * Develop a system for tracking plant requests and technical related questions\n * Provide product line support for vendors, customers, sales, and manufacturing\n * Support product line engineering processes for activities such as, change requests and design deviations\n * Support business objectives / improvements impacting product line-wide performance\n * Identify opportunities that enhance business performance through CI activities\n * Assist in bi-annual competitor analysis of product features and capabilities\n * Monitor and review product warranty and service history trends. Support root cause analysis on recurring issues. \nCoordinate communications with satellites, main plants, AE\u2019s, and product management\n * Coordinate and oversee tasks and activities for MOL engineers\n * Ensure best practices are shared between facilities\n\n\n\n## Qualifications:\n\nBASIC QUALIFICATIONS:\n\n * Bachelor\u2019s degree in engineering from an accredited institution.\n * Minimum 8 years of design or engineering experience\n * Eaton will not consider applicants for employment immigration sponsorship or support for this position. Active-Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation.\n\n\n\nPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:\n\n * Bachelor\u2019s degree in electrical, mechanical, electronics engineering from an accredited institution.\n * Minimum 3 years of design experience with UL 50, UL 67, and UL 891\n * Certified Six Sigma Green/Black Belt\n * Experience with low voltage power distribution equipment\n\n\n\n## Skills:\n\nPOSITION CRITERIA:\n\n * Good verbal and written communication skills, persuasive skills, and analytical problem-solving skills. Work with individuals and groups to effectively participate within team environment.\n * Proficiency in Engineering software/tools (AutoCAD, Autodesk Inventor \u0026 Enovia)\n * Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)\n * Experience with Autodesk Inventor\n * Knowledge of Product Life-cycle management systems and their structure\n * Fabrication methods for sheet metal, plastic, copper, and aluminum\n * Proper bus joint design\n * Up to 25% of your time traveling\n\n\n\nADDITIONAL INFORMATION:\n\nExpected to work with some degree of independence and make decisions that affect the workgroup. Focus efforts on attaining assigned goals and objectives, which include meeting needs and expectations of internal and external customers. Must be able to successfully manage multiple priorities, analyze complex problems and implement solutions.\n\nMust be able to communicate effectively with customers and company personnel at all management, professional, and technical levels. This position requires a high level of responsiveness and proactive problem solving to reinforce enterprise wide goal of providing world class customer satisfaction.
