Job Description - Engineering Supervisor - Power Distribution

Eaton\u2019s ES AMER ARS division is currently seeking an Engineering Supervisor - Power Distribution. This role will take place out of our facility in Sumter, SC. Relocation assistance and sponsorship are available for qualified candidates within our hiring region.\n\nThe Engineering Supervisor - Power Distribution is responsible for leading our Programmatic Engineering team in the development of standardizing our programmatic Design, Bill of Materials (BOMs) and programmatic engineered wiring harnesses for P\u0026S Power Distribution Equipment. They will be subject matter experts with regards to low voltage distribution control wiring. They will also be the subject matter expert within the CPA organization for Automation Wiring Package (i.e: EPLAN) developed harnesses. Additionally, they will also work with adjacent divisions to develop Engineered-To-Order (ETO) automation capabilities.\n\nThe expected annual salary range for this role is $113000 - $165000 a year. This position is also eligible for a variable incentive program.\n\nPlease note the salary information shown above is a general guideline only. Salaries are based upon candidate skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations. \n\n## What you\u2019ll do:\n\n * Lead a team of subject matter experts for control wiring and harness development\n * Work with other divisions to develop automation around EPLAN schematics and wiring diagrams from Eaton\u2019s Design Automation tool\n * Assist in COE design reviews for key customers:\n * Design for Manufacturability (DFM)\n * Ensure designs are optimized for contracted configuration variability\n * Develop and drive plans towards EPLAN implementation across all Custom Order engineering team\n * Develop and drive harness capabilities in the business\n * Manage a team of engineers, drafters, and technician\n * Ensure compliance to all applicable national and local electrical codes and standards as they relate to the products we produce (UL, NEC, NEMA, OSPHD). \n * Represent the product line as a lead technical consultant.\n * Develop standards around best wire modeling practices\n * Develop technical communications: datasheets, interface control documents, test plans, etc.\n * Design, model, and test product prototypes.\n\n\n\n## Qualifications:\n\nRequired (Basic) Qualifications: \n\n * Bachelor\u2019s Degree in Engineering OR a Master\u2019s of Business Administration from an accredited institution.\n * Minimum of 2 years of experience with wire automation software.\n * Minimum of 2 years of experience as a leader of people.\n\n\n\nPreferred Qualifications:\n\n * At least 10 years of design experience with LV electrical distribution equipment.\n * Certification for Design for Six Sigma\n * At least 2 years of experience designing products under UL 50, UL67, and UL 891 standards. \n * At least 2 years of experience with EPLAN software package.\n * At least 2 years of experience with Autodesk Inventor.\n * At least 5 years as a manager of people.\n\n\n\n## Skills:\n\n * Good verbal and written communication skills, persuasive skills, and analytical problem-solving skills. Work with individuals and groups to effectively participate within team environment.\n * Proficiency in Engineering software/tools (AutoCAD, Enovia)\n * Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)\n * Able to travel up to 20%\n\n\n\n## Additional Information:\n\nExpected to work with some degree of independence and make decisions that affect the workgroup. Focus efforts on attaining assigned goals and objectives, which include meeting needs and expectations of internal and external customers. Must be able to successfully manage multiple priorities, analyze complex problems and implement solutions. \nMust be able to communicate effectively with customers and company personnel at all management, professional, and technical levels. This position requires a high level of responsiveness and proactive problem solving to reinforce enterprise wide goal of providing world class customer satisfaction. Must be team oriented and self-starter with strong multi-tasking and time management skills.\n\nPhysical Demands:\n\nWhile performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; sit; reach at or above shoulder level; grip; and use hands to handle and feel. The employee is frequently required to walk; stoop; lift; carry; push; pull; and grip. The employee is frequently required to lift/carry up to 35 pounds. The employee is frequently required to push/pull up to or greater than 35 pounds. The vision requirements include far and close vision with depth perception and color discrimination.
