Engineering Technical Specialist

We are currently seeking a Mechanical Engineering Technical Specialist  to join our Engineering team in Woburn, MA.

About the Role

The Technical Specialist is an advanced technical leader responsible for providing specialized engineering expertise, technical direction, and quality oversight across projects and disciplines. This role serves as a company-wide resource for complex design challenges and supports project teams through deep technical knowledge, mentorship, and technical problem-solving.

Key Responsibilities

• Serve as a technical expert supporting projects across multiple markets and teams


• Lead complex engineering design efforts and high-level technical problem-solving


• Provide technical consultation to project teams and leadership


• Perform QA/QC reviews of drawings, calculations, and design documentation


• Support discipline standards, best practices, and continuous improvement initiatives


• Assist with scope definition, technical planning, cost estimating, and value engineering


• Help resolve design conflicts, technical risks, and construction-phase issues


• Mentor engineers and design staff to support technical growth and consistency
  

Knowledge & Experience Required

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering required


• 10+ years of applicable MEP consulting design experience preferred


• PE license required or equivalent advanced experience


• LEED accreditation preferred


• Extensive knowledge of discipline-specific engineering design, construction practices, and applicable codes


• Strong communication, collaboration, and technical leadership skills


• Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary project teams

Physical Requirements

• Prolonged periods of sitting and working at a computer


• Occasional field investigations and site visits as required

Compensation & Benefits

Salary Range: $140,000 - $205,000 base (targeted range; placement based on skills, experience, scope, and internal equity)
