Engineering Technician

Job Location: Thief River Falls, MN

Do you enjoy having the flexibility of working inside and outside? Do you also enjoy working in software programs? We are looking for a person of many talents related to AutoCAD and construction observation. This role helps our team of engineers and surveyors complete important projects that help support and improve communities.

As an entry level Civil Technician, we will train you for the day-to-day activities to include:

• Drive a company vehicle to construction civil engineering job sites and document civil engineering construction activities into a daily log using engineering related software such as Builterra.
• Communicate with construction contractors and the project manager regarding the construction activities.
• Review permit applications for rule compliance.
• Operate electronic survey instruments such as GPS and Total Station.
• Assist Engineers with estimates, project design, construction plan development while working in engineering related software such as AutoCAD Civil3D and Bluebeam.

• High school graduate with post-secondary education a plus.
• General knowledge of construction.
• Ability to read and interpret construction plans, blueprints and maps.
• Able to work extended periods of time in outdoor conditions.
• Above average math and communication skills.
• Valid driver’s license and availability for overnight travel.
