Continuous Composites, headquartered in downtown Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, is the industry leader of Continuous Fiber 3D Printing (CF3D®). We are developing a novel manufacturing method for carbon fiber composite components, primarily for aerospace customers
Your Role on the Team
We’re looking for an experienced and multi-talented Engineering Technician who is excited to bring improvements to CF3D® to market. Our ideal candidate has experience running complicated machinery such as CNC mills, as well as testing and documenting the test results. He/she will be comfortable understanding new concepts, executing test plans, documenting results, and communicating the results to the broader team. Opportunities:
Refine and improve a novel composite deposition process
Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams (mechanical, materials, software, controls) to execute multi-year product development plans
Your Responsibilities Will Include:
Maintaining CF3D® hardware
Assembling and testing prototype hardware
Post processing print samples for analysis and test purposes
Running tests with varied process parameters and steps to optimize throughput and finished part quality
Recording data to drive improvements in the CF3D® process
Interfacing with the development teams for seamless integration of process, materials, hardware, and software
Troubleshooting issues
Working as a team to maintain progress on deliverables while knowing when to escalate risks and issues
Required Qualifications:
Minimum Associate's degree in chemical, materials, electrical, mechanical, or controls engineering
5 years of experience in a development or production environment
Ability to interface with cross-functional teams and to collaborate with all stakeholders
Diligent adherence to test plan and procedures during execution
Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
Ability to lift up to 50lb
Desired Experience
Familiarity with g-code
Experience with 6-axis robots
Additive manufacturing familiarity
One of the following:
Experience with mechanical fabrication
Experience with PLC programming and troubleshooting
Experience with materials testing
Experience with soldering and electrical wiring
Qualified candidate must be eligible to work in the U.S. Candidates need to be lawfully able to work on ITAR or controlled information which requires that the applicant be a U.S. Person as defined by 22 CFR 120.62.
