Engineering Technician

We are looking for an Engineering Technician to provide technical support to sales and test department. Review sales orders and examine compatibility of selected parts and quantities. Create draft intersection controller cabinet sketch. 

Duties / Responsibilities

1. Review sales order and correct the orders if necessary.
2. Review plans and specs to ensure the correct product is provided.  
3. Liaison between applications, sales, and test departments.
4. Read and draw cabinet prints using AutoCAD program.
5. Performed other job-related duties as assigned.

1. Must be able to read and understand mechanical and electrical engineering drawing.
2. Must have good communication skills and the ability to communicate in English (written and verbal).
3. Must be able to understand sale orders, i.e., identify the compatibility of the sale orders, selected parts, proper quantity selections and appropriate lead times.
4. Must have working knowledge of MS office, i.e. Word, Excel and Outlook. Experience with AutoCAD is preferred.  
5. Must be able to use hand tools, small power tools, and test equipment.
6. Must be able to understand electrical wiring.
7. Must be a proactive team player.  
8. A self-starter who can work with customer specifications, rough sketches and understands verbal instructions.  
9. Strong organizational and time management skills.
10. Maintain highest level of professionalism under pressure with the ability to work in high paced environment.
11. Ability to be flexible and able to handle multiple tasks at one given time.  
12. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Physical Conditions / Requirements

• No unusual physical requirements. It requires no heavy lifting, and nearly all work is done in a comfortable indoor facility.
• Occasional – Routine deadlines; usually sufficient lead time; variance in work volume seasonal and predictable; priorities can be anticipated; some interruptions are present; involves occasional exposure to demands and pressures from persons other than immediate supervisor.
• Job frequently requires sitting and handling objects with hands.
• Job occasionally requires standing, walking, bending, reaching, talking, hearing, and lifting up to 10 pounds.
• Hearing requirements: Ability to hear people over the telephone and in person; hear noises in surrounding areas, i.e., forklifts in the warehouse for safety purposes.
• Vision requirements: Ability to see information in print and/or electronically.
