Engineering Technician

Position Summary:

Talent Source is seeking an Engineering Technician to support field and lab validation of advanced radio communication systems. This role performs hands-on testing of software and hardware, documents performance issues, and collaborates closely with engineering teams to ensure system reliability and end-user functionality. The position involves both indoor lab work and outdoor field testing in varying weather conditions. A valid driver’s license is required.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform field and lab testing of communication systems with an end-user focus

• Contribute to test plans and written procedures

• Set up, configure, and operate advanced data and voice communication equipment

• Generate trouble reports (TRs) and document repeatability of issues

• Collaborate with development engineers to support TR resolution

• Refine team procedures and data collection practices for continuous improvement

• Occasionally support demos, proposals, and customer interactions

• May require limited travel for testing or demonstrations

• Operate company vehicles safely when performing field tests

• Work outdoors in various weather conditions

• Perform additional duties as assigned

Required Qualifications:

• Proficiency with MS Office and Windows

• Ability to work effectively in a team environment

• Flexibility to adjust to changing test conditions or priorities

• Valid and active driver’s license

• Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions

• Ability to lift and install equipment and work around vehicles and test setups

Nice-to-Have Qualifications:

• Prior military radio experience

• Experience with Falcon 3 or Falcon 4 communication systems

• Degree in a STEM field

Schedule & Compensation:

• Pay Rate: $25 – $35/hour (may be flexible depending on experience)

• Location: Rochester, NY
