Job Description

Won-Door manufactures and installs custom fire, sound, and security accordion door products. For over 60 years, Won-Door has provided tens of thousands of unique customized solutions to help solve the architectural challenges on many projects from the elaborate and state-of-the-art, to the local school or office next door. With recent developments and growth, Won-Door is looking to enhance its service business by expanding preventative maintenance sales.

Fire doors and life safety equipment (including Won-Doors) are required by fire codes to have yearly inspection of products. Our highly skilled Installation and Service Technicians, interact with general contractors and building owners to provide an excellent customer service experience and insure that Won-Door products are installed and service properly to provide an additional layer of fire and security protection for the building.

Responsibilities

Plan test schedules for new products or product enhancementWorks with engineers to devise testing processes for new products under engineering development.Set testing parameters, set up equipment, and maintain a clean / organized R&D testing area, to meet Engineering's product specification requirements.Execute test plans on new product or product enhancement or upgradesPrepare fixturing for product testingManage installation tools and testing equipmentUtilize good computer skills to prepare spreadsheets for testing data acquisition, analysis, and reporting.Work in a TEAM environment with engineers to accomplish and report all product-testing parameters.Help with prototype assemblySupport FAI build and document the items that do not meet the drawings, function or design intentRecommends action items to quality, manufacturing and engineering based on findings during the FAI buildProvides input for door installation manualsParticipate in lesson learned, NPS and sustaining engineering meetingsAbility to read and interpret technical documents such safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals, basic electrical schematics, architectural drawings, mechanical installation instructions.Qualifications

Educational Requirements:

High School DiplomaPrefer 6 months of technical school trainingPhysical/Work Environment Requirements

Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.Repetitive standing, lifting, reaching, bending, climbing, & kneelingWorking on ladders at varying heights.Skills/Experience Requirements

5+ years of industrial product assembly, testing and documentation experienceProficient in use of: hand tools, power tools, mills, saws, drill press, etcMS OfficeExcellent telephone, written and verbal communication skills while interfacing with all levels of staff and customers.Math skills required. Ability to calculate proportions, percentages, area, circumference, volume, etc.Experience in the automatic door industry
