Our employees are not only part of history, they\u0027re making history.\n\nNorthrop Grumman\u2019s Defense Systems sector location located in Rocket Center, WV is currently seeking a Engineering Technician Level 2 to support our growing business.\n\nThis position in on site at our Rocket Center, WV location. No remote opportunities available for this position.\n\nOverview:\n\nProvides technical support to engineers on a variety of technical tasks. Gathers, maintains, formats, compiles, and manipulates technical data, such as laboratory or material test results and engineering design changes. Produces engineering documentation, reports, drawings (flow charts, block diagrams, and schematics). Performs detailed mathematical calculations using established formulas; preliminary analyses of data where guidelines are provided in such areas as trajectory adequacy, model dimensional consistency; and quantitative judgments concerning technical data. Uses personal computer in performance of analyses and development of documentation/reports. May conduct tests and record data to assist with engineering evaluation or analysis.\n\nPrincipal Accountabilities / Responsibilities:\n\n * Handles explosive materials and liquid explosives on a daily basis (required).\n\n * Performs technical and record keeping duties in conformance with company and regulatory policies and standards to meet customer and AS9100 requirements.\n\n * Operates modern analytical instrumentation. \n\n * Able to read and interpret government specifications.\n\n * Familiarity with a Lab Information Management System.\n\n * Comfortable communicating with management, engineers, chemists, and external vendors.\n\n * Monitors gauge and instrument calibrations. Ensures calibration cycles are not exceeded. \n\n * Performs a variety of technical procedures such as preparing routine solutions and reagents and performing routine reactions.\n\n * Makes and records observations; performs simple calculations; collects and prepares data for evaluation; and documents results in lab notebook and lab management system.\n\n * Conducts laboratory support functions such as stocking and distributing supplies and equipment; arranging and dismantling apparatus; and collecting, washing, and storing glassware.\n\n * Performs standard analytical test methods for quality control, material assessment, investigations, and compliance to regulatory requirements.\n\n * Communicates effectively as part of a team.\n\n * Maintains the highest safety standards by following documented procedures.\n\n * Maintains high ethical standards of work and personal conduct.\n\n * Ability to change job assignments to support program\u2019s needs.\n\n * Ability to multitask\n\n\n\n\nMinimum Qualifications:\n\n * High School diploma or equivalent and 2 years additional education and/or related experience.\n\n * Experience working in an analytical lab.\n\n * Able to safely handle acids, solvents, and energetics.\n\n * Demonstrated hands-on mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting.\n\n * Ability to work independently and with minimum supervision.\n\n * Proficient in MS office.\n\n * Ability and willingness to provide coverage on weekends and off shifts as needed.\n\n * U.S. citizenship\n\n\n\n\nPreferred Qualifications:\n\n * Bachelor level degree in Chemistry or STEM \n\n\n\n\nPrimary Level Salary Range: $47,000.00 - $78,300.00\n\nThe above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate\u0027s experience, education, skills and current market conditions.\n\nDepending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.\n\nThe application period for the job is estimated to be 20 days from the job posting date.
