POSITION:
One full-time instructional academic staff position with the title Lecturer in Writing and Rhetoric is available in the English Department at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire, beginning August 17, 2026. This is a salaried, one-year appointment with the possibility of renewal based on program need.

DUTIES:
The successful candidate will teach the equivalent of 15 credit hours each semester. Teaching assignments will generally be four courses per semester: two undergraduate rhetoric courses in technical and scientific writing and two courses in the first-year writing program, the Blugold Seminar in Critical Reading and Writing (https://www.uwec.edu/offices-services/blugold-seminar). Some Blugold Seminar courses may be offered for students in our Launch program . (https://www.uwec.edu/apply/other-student/launch-program)
For the first semester of this appointment, fall 2026, the teaching assignment will likely be three courses: two 5-credit/6-hour first-year writing courses (each capped at no more than 20 students) and one section of ENGL 313: Technical Writing (24 students). Course delivery will be in person, on our campus in Eau Claire, WI.
