WyoTech is seeking a candidate to counsel and inform prospective and enrolled students regarding timelines, financial aid options, payments, scholarship applications, entry requirements, part-time jobs, campus activities, housing, and community information. Duties and Responsibilities:
Communicate with enrolled students to establish expectations and timelines for completing enrollment/registration requirements
Provide information to enrolled students regarding admissions policy, assessment, financial aid, programs of study, support services, and student organizations
Contact incoming students to acquire required documentation such as proof of graduation, financial aid paperwork, VA education paperwork, deposits, and housing application
Maintain a comprehensive understanding of financial aid practices, policies, and procedures, including FAFSA filing, eligibility requirements, scholarships, grants, and loans
Confer regularly with the supervisor, student finance, student accounts, admissions, registrar, and other departments
Adhere to ethical standards, including the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) guidelines, and is knowledgeable about appropriate federal, state, and school policies and procedures
Update student records and maintain confidential student information
Utilize phone, email, and mail to communicate with students in a timely manner, providing superior student service
Ability to work independently, and to arrange information sessions, set appointments and promote the school in a positive manner
Ability to follow the expectation of treating fellow employees, students, and the school’s guests with civility and to refrain from activities that disrupt the efficient functioning of the school
Ability to follow directions and complete tasks accurately as well as accept supervisory input and constructive criticism
Be solution-oriented, resourceful, and proactive with a strong sense of responsibility and ownership
Must be able to organize, prioritize, and show initiative in handling multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
Ability to adapt to changing work requirements and priorities that may require some irregular hours, such as evenings or weekends, when needed
Minimum Requirement (A combination of the following experience and training, or the equivalent of, would be qualifying):
High school diploma or equivalent from an academic institution accredited by a regional or national accrediting agency that is recognized by the U.S. Department of Education
Two plus years of administrative work experience
Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office
