Position Purpose
Serves as technical leader to drive standards and governance across all applications and infrastructure in partnership IT Security team. Supports senior leadership in the development of roadmaps for a targeted domain / function, and connects them with the broader enterprise technology landscape, including alignment to enterprise architecture standards, building a pathway to achieve target state goals. Leads to improve and develop new process designs and technology platform strategies supporting the program.

Leads, prioritizes, and develops the overall IT architecture and standards across: Information Architecture: Focused on the consistent sharing of information across the enterprise;
Solutions Architecture: Focused on developing a roadmap and managing the direction of the portfolio;
Technical Architecture: Focused on evolving the technical infrastructure, software development lifecycle, and end user Technology
Security Architecture: Focused on managing IT risk through the exchange of information between people, systems, and data inside and outside the organization.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Enterprise Architecture and IT Governance Standards Designs the technical framework of the enterprise
Supports the design and implementation of robust enterprise architectures for our IT systems.
Defines technology direction, standards, and guidelines for enterprise to follow
Facilitates adoption of enterprise technology direction across IT teams through the development of new software and hardware applications.
Establishes strong strategic partnerships with key IT and business leadership, providing appropriate influence on technology related items.
Develops the future state technical roadmap collaboratively.
Collaborates with Technology engineers to develop project blueprints and facilitates the execution of those projects.
Applies, recommends, and implements highly advanced technology concepts to improve organization-wide efficiency and effectiveness.

Compliance and Regulation Ensures that programs are in compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and policies to minimize or eliminate risk and audit findings
Assists in regular reporting on the status of the information security program to enterprise risk teams, senior business and IT leaders, and the Audit Committee as part of a strategic enterprise risk management program.

Training and Awareness Develops and delivers cybersecurity training programs to educate employees on architecture best practices.
Supports the approval, training, and dissemination of security policies and practices.

Safety Performs preventive maintenance on tools and equipment and ensures equipment is in safe operating condition.
Follows established safety procedures and techniques to perform job duties including lifting and climbing; operates tools and equipment according to established safety procedures.
Corrects unsafe conditions in work area and promptly reports any conditions that are not immediately correctable to supervisor.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Knowledge of information security and enterprise risk management methodologies.
Knowledge of software architecture, distributed systems, scalability, design patterns, and disaster recovery.
Knowledge of designing solutions and full stack development in modern technologies for large enterprise technology platforms and systems.
Knowledge of coding microservices, building UI/UX, frameworks and experience in deploying applications using CI/CD pipelines.
Knowledge of systems administration, enterprise web applications, servers, databases, virtualization, active directory, LDAP, cloud/on prem services, etc.
Knowledge of business continuity and disaster recovery management.
Knowledge of District policies, procedures, and regulations.
Knowledge and understanding of relevant local, state, and federal legal and regulatory requirements.
Skill in performance engineering, tuning, and building technology products for scale.
Skill in using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems.
Skill in written and oral communication skills including ability to interact with and influence all levels of district service center and campus staff.
Ability to communicate security and risk-related concepts to technical and nontechnical audiences.
Ability to design, organize, and track work plans, create appropriate working and decision-making processes, ensure stakeholders are engaged, and support the work itself.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team-oriented structure.
Ability to analyze, synthesize, and interpret data, to summarize for technical and non-technical employees and senior management.
Ability to handle difficult and stressful situations with professional composure.
Ability to exercise discretion regarding matters of a sensitive or confidential nature.
Ability to prepare oral or written communications, such as presentations, reports, memoranda, letters, grant proposals, and other documents.
Ability to engage in self-evaluation with regard to performance and professional growth.
Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with others contacted in the course of work.

Travel Requirements Travels to school district buildings and professional meetings as required.

Physical & Mental Demands, Work Hazards Tools/Equipment Used: Standard office equipment, including computer and peripherals.
Posture: Prolonged sitting and standing; occasional stooping, squatting, kneeling, bending, pushing/pulling, and twisting.
Motion: Frequent repetitive hand motions, including keyboarding and use of mouse; occasional reaching.
Lifting: Occasional light lifting and carrying (less than 15 pounds).
Environment: Works in an office setting; occasionally requires irregular and/or prolonged hours.
Attendance: Regular and punctual attendance at the worksite is required for this position.
Mental Demands: Maintains emotional control under stress; works with frequent interruptions.

Minimum Required Qualifications Education: (See approved combinations of Education & Experience below) Accredited High School diploma, GED, or Texas Certificate of High School Equivalency required;
Bachelor's degree from accredited college or university in a related field preferred.

Certification/License: None.
Experience: 5-9 years' experience in a combination of enterprise architecture, security and IT roles.
