General Description
This position provides journeyman level support to the Air Force Research Lab’s Aerospace Systems Directorate (RQ). Specific duties include developing solutions that integrate existing and evolving governance, EA tools, frameworks, methodologies, models, and artifacts with the goals to use EA to eliminate redundancy, build efficiency, reengineer business processes, and optimize utilization of resources.

Duties and responsibilities
The successful candidate will support EA strategic, operational, and solution level goals and efforts under AFRL guidance. The scope of EA services and support will be associated with all AFRL RQ processes to include business activities, Research and Development, network operations, and day-to-day operations performed by and on behalf of AFRL RQ. Examples of efforts include the following:
  • Data Analysis and Interpretation: gather, analyze, and interpret data to understand business performance, identify trends, and uncover potential issues or opportunities.
  • Business Modeling: using information obtain through requirements determination and process re-engineering to model business processes to determine the impacts of various process changes.
  • Perform EA planning and EA design and development using DoDAF 2.0 or greater.
  • Support the use of EA in the governance process, EA technical writing and documentation, and EA software support.
  • Develop architecture artifacts based on DoDAF using architecture tools like ARIS.
  • Perform value stream mapping of existing processes.

Specialized Knowledge
The successful candidate will have knowledge and expertise in the following areas:
  • Direct experience with the creation of artifacts using DoDAF 2.0 or higher.
  • Understanding of the U.S. Government Accountability Office (GAO) EA Management Maturity Framework (EAMMF).
  • Experience with requirements gathering and analyses by engaging stakeholders to elicit, document, and validate business and technical requirements by using interviews, workshops, surveys, and observation to understand business needs and translate high-level need into detailed and functional and non-functional requirements
  • Knowledge and experience with performing process mapping and improvement by analyzing the current business processes and identifying inefficiencies or gaps by creating as-is and to-be process maps using tools such as BPMN and Visio.
 
Education
Bachelor's degree in Business or related fields of study.

Professional Certifications
None.

Clearance                                                               
The ability to obtain and maintain the necessary clearances (specifically, a background investigation at the Tier 1 low risk level (formerly NACI) with a favorable adjudication).

Experience
5+ years’ experience working in enterprise architecture, business analysis and process modeling.  

 
U.S. Citizen or Similar
Must be a U.S. Citizen

Other Characteristics (e.g., Personal or Language)
Excellent oral, written, and communication in English. Must be able to work in a team environment with personnel from other companies, government program management and administrative personnel, and technical staff members. Must be able to perform with minimal management oversight and have strong time management skills.

Working conditions, including location
On-site at WPAFB, OH.

Client duty hours are Monday through Friday.
 
Salary
125 - 134k Annually
