Job Description
The Enterprise Data Architect will be responsible for overseeing all data-related functions and services within the organization. This role encompasses data governance, data quality, data dictionary management, data integration, API management, ETL processes, data warehousing, and data lakes. The Data Architect will act as a data champion, ensuring that data is managed effectively, efficiently, and in accordance with best practices.
Key Responsibilities:
Data Governance:
Develop and implement data governance policies and procedures.
Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and data management standards.
Establish data stewardship and data ownership roles within the organization.
Data Quality: Monitor and improve data quality across all systems and processes.
Implement data quality metrics and reporting.
Identify and resolve data quality issues.
Data Dictionary: Create and maintain a comprehensive data dictionary.
Ensure data definitions are consistent and standardized across the organization.
Facilitate understanding and usage of data assets through documentation and training.
Data Integration: Design and manage data integration processes between systems.
Ensure seamless data flow and consistency across platforms.
Implement and maintain APIs for data access and integration.
ETL Processes: Help steer the design and execution of ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes.
Ensure data is accurately extracted, transformed, and loaded into data warehouses and data lakes.
Optimize ETL workflows for performance and reliability.
Data Champion: Advocate for data-driven decision-making within the organization.
Promote data literacy and understanding among staff.
Provide training and support for data users.
Document Management: Develop and maintain a robust document management system for data-related documentation.
Ensure all data policies, procedures, and guidelines are well-documented and accessible.
Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
Proven experience in data management, data governance, and data quality.
Experience writing code and Power BI development experience are a plus.
Strong understanding of data integration, API management, and ETL processes.
Experience with data warehousing and data lakes.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
