Envelope Pressman

Summary 

Makes ready and operates multiunit, press to print direct mail according to written specifications by performing the following duties.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Locks printing plates on printing cylinder.
• Correct color problems by manual adjustments. 
  • verify color match to pantone matching system
• Inspects printed envelopes visually after registration or position printing and readjusts guides and controls to rectify spacing errors.
• Unlocks plates and replaces with make-over plates according to directions marked on plate regarding location and time of      printing.
• Inspects printed material visually during production and readjusts controls to correct irregular ink distribution and spacing.
• Replaces worn or damaged ink rolls, and fills ink wells.
• Cleans, inspects, and lubricates moving parts of press.
• Places material into boxes and then onto pallets which requires frequent lifting.

• Troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Mechanical and technical skills required
• Good oral and written communication skills
• Good time management skills
• Manufacturing equipment or machine operator skills required
• Computer skills/knowledge preferred

Education and/or Experience   

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); 2-5 years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Physical Demands 

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and talk or hear. The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and /or move up to 50 pounds. 

Work Environment 

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position. Work hours are 7am to 3pm.
