Job Description - Environment, Health and Safety Manager

Monogram Foods has an opening for an EHS Manager at our corn dog manufacturing plant in Bristol, IN. The role will be responsible for administering the safety and environmental functions. This position manages the safety and environmental programs and procedures to ensure the facility is operating to standard while ensuring compliance with company, federal, state and local laws and regulations, with a heavy emphasis on hourly team member driven participation and ownership of the process.
This position reports to the Senior Director of Employee Safety & Health, with dotted line reporting to Director of Environmental Compliance and plant Director of Operations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Directs the site-specific safety and environmental compliance calendar activities for the facility and ensures these are reviewed annually and updated as necessary. Provide facilitative leadership and site mentorship to the Root Cause Analysis incident analysis process. Ensures compliance with all applicable Monogram, environmental and safety regulatory requirements. Be a visible leader and influencer to the leadership and hourly team members of the site to ensure that a Safety Management Systems (ANSI Z10, ISO 45001, OSHA VPP, etc) - approach is applied to the entire site responsibilities for environmental and safety success, with ANSI Z10 the intended model for success. Lead and assist with annual Site Safety Plan development and execution. Understand and maintain compliance with all permits and environmental plans. Drives environmental strategy to lead site sustainability efforts. Provide leadership and support for team-based safety and environmental steering teams, promote culture of inclusion of all team members in environmental and safety activities and priorities. Provides key participation and leadership to Process Safety Management compliance and sustainment. Co-facilitation of outside PSM consulting activities. Occasional required travel for corporate EHS meetings, training and reciprocal assistance partnership with other regional Monogram facilities. As a member of the 18-strong Monogram EHS team, in partnership with the other site EHS team members develop and audit Monogram environmental and safety corporate procedures. Maintain a visible presence across all operating shifts on the plant floor providing assistance, coaching and feedback to site operations. Audits facility to identify and mitigate hazardous safety, health or environmental conditions. Analyze incidents and incident statistics to ensure necessary corrective actions/preventive measures have been determined and are in place. Manage all EHS activities and incidents utilizing our EHS management software. Manage EHS statistical and status reporting to local, division and corporate leadership. Manages workers compensation claims, liaison to 3rd party claims managers, ensures necessary reports are filed, tracking and documentation requirements followed, employee restrictions and ramp in/work hardening requirements are followed. Provide/support new hire orientation for all safety and environmental topics and ensures all annual compliance training occurs, is understood and documented. Visible presence in plant operations on a daily basis.

Education and Experience Bachelors degree in Environmental Health Safety, Occupational Safety, Environmental Science or related science field preferred, or equivalent work experience. 10+ years minimum of environmental, health and safety experience in a manufacturing environment, ideally food manufacturing / processing. Must be minimum 18 years of age. Thorough working knowledge of Federal, State and local environmental and safety requirements and the ability to ensure sustained compliance throughout the complex. Understanding of engagement-based Safety Management Systems (i.e. ANSI Z10, ISO 45001, OSHA SHARP/VPP, etc). Existing or ability to attain and sustain Fall Protection competent person status. Outstanding verbal, written, multi-tasking and presentation skills. Hi energy and motivational, cultural influencer. Bi-lingual (Spanish) is a plus. Ability to drive team member led environmental and safety culture. Ability to travel occasionally. High level of interpersonal, coaching and leadership skills Highly proficient in Microsoft Office applications including Excel, PowerPoint. Ability to navigate 3rd party software solutions for contractor pre-qualification, workers compensation claims management, PSM, EHS data management. Valid U.S. driver's license. Possess or ability to earn RSO certification. Possess or plan to earn professional safety / environmental certifications (CSP, SMS, CEP, CIH, CHMM, etc..).
