Environmental Compliance Inspector

Role Description:

Arcadis is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Environmental Compliance Inspector to support one of the most iconic and consequential infrastructure initiatives in the United States — the Gateway Hudson Tunnel Project (HTP).

Role Accountabilities:

• Perform and oversee field audits of environmental documentation and field activities


• Review and prepare written technical reports documenting environmental construction compliance.


• Report inconsistencies, environmental permitting requirements and or contract specifications to the environmental compliance team


• Provide oversight of construction as it relates to environmental compliance


• Ability to interpret scientific data and specifications 

Required Qualifications: 

• Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, geology or a closely related discipline


• 8+ years of prior experience performing construction site inspections

Key Skills and Abilities: 

• Strong technical writing, analytical, and communication skills


• Ability to travel throughout the NY/NJ Metro Area


• Valid driver’s license

Preferred Qualifications: 

• Prior experience providing environmental inspections in and for NY, NJ and/or NYC agencies


• OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER training (and current refreshers)

These benefits include medical, dental, and vision, EAP,  401K, STD, LTD, AD&D, life insurance, paid parental leave, reward & recognition program and optional benefits including wellbeing benefits, adoption assistance and tuition reimbursement.  We offer nine paid holidays and 20 days PTO that accrue per year. The salary range for this position is $120,000 - $145,000. Actual salaries will vary and are based on several factors, such as experience, education, budget, internal equity, project and location.
