This role ensures regulatory compliance, supports sustainable water use, and partners closely with Facilities, Engineering, Operations, and Environmental Health \u0026 Safety teams to protect the environment while enabling reliable manufacturing. The engineer applies technical expertise, data analysis, and regulatory knowledge to optimize water systems performance and support long\u2011term site objectives.\n\nResponsibilities\n\n * Manage environmental compliance and performance for water, wastewater, and stormwater systems in support of fab operations.\n\n * Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local environmental regulations and permit requirements related to water programs.\n\n * Monitor system performance, analyze environmental data, and identify opportunities to improve water efficiency and sustainability.\n\n * Support operation and optimization of water treatment, recycling, and discharge systems in partnership with Facilities and Operations teams.\n\n * Prepare regulatory reports, permit applications, and internal documentation; support audits and inspections as required.\n\n * Investigate environmental incidents or deviations, perform root\u2011cause analysis, and lead corrective and preventive actions.\n\n * Participate in water\u2011related capital projects, upgrades, and system modifications to support manufacturing growth and reliability.\n\n * Promote environmental stewardship and safe work practices by influencing best\u2011known methods and compliance awareness.\n\n\n\n\nMinimum Qualifications\n\n * Bachelor\u2019s degree in Environmental Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related field\n\n * 3+ years of experience in evaluating and implementing environmental regulations and permitting related to water, wastewater, or stormwater systems.\n\n * Experience in data-driven decision making, along with solid organizational, and communication skills with the ability to work cross\u2011functionally internally and externally.\n\n\n\n\nPreferred Qualifications\n\n * 5+ years of experience supporting industrial or semiconductor manufacturing water and wastewater systems.\n\n * Experience with water treatment technologies, recycling systems, or sustainability programs to include incident investigation and root cause analysis.\n\n * Experience interacting with regulatory agencies and supporting environmental audits or inspections (ISO 14001).\n\n\n\n\nJob Profile(s):\n\nEnvironmental Engineer 2 - Environmental Engineer 3\n\nRelocation Level: TBD\n\nBefore Getting Started \nPlease review Micron\u2019s Internal Job Application Policy on your regional PeopleNow Career Opportunities page before searching and applying for jobs.
