Location: Albany, NY. This is a hybrid opportunity with meaningful in-office collaboration and flexibility that may increase after an initial period of demonstrated performance. Fully remote arrangements may be considered only in exceptional circumstances.
Note: Candidates must be admitted to the New York Bar, have 3+ years of directly relevant environmental and energy law experience including land use matters, and hold a JD from an accredited U.S. law school. Candidates with 4 to 7 years of relevant experience are especially encouraged to apply.

Job Description
- Advise clients on environmental, energy, land use, permitting, and related regulatory matters
- Research and analyze complex environmental and land use laws, regulations, and agency requirements
- Draft legal memoranda, correspondence, agreements, applications, and other substantive legal documents
- Assist clients in navigating regulatory approvals, compliance matters, and development-related issues
- Work directly with clients, government agencies, consultants, and other stakeholders
- Manage matters with increasing independence while collaborating closely with experienced attorneys
- Develop practical legal strategies that balance regulatory requirements with clients' business and project objectives
Qualifications
- Active New York Bar admission
- JD from an accredited U.S. law school
- 3+ years of directly relevant environmental and energy law experience
- Meaningful experience with land use matters
- Strong legal research, writing, analytical, and communication skills
- Ability to independently manage substantive assignments and client matters
- 4 to 7 years of relevant experience preferred, although more senior candidates may be considered
- Relevant private practice, government, in-house, or solo practice backgrounds may be considered
