Environmental Scientist (3592)

Navarro Research and Engineering is recruiting an Environmental Scientist (3592) in Idaho Falls, ID.

• Support the Environmental Services organization in the completion of characterization and/or compliance sampling. 
• The position will support the efforts of the characterization sampling lead. 
• Support shall include assisting with tasks such as, but not limited to, supporting sample leads with sample collection, sample preparation, sample storage and shipments, conducting and attending pre-job briefs, log keeping, equipment maintenance and ordering, reviewing or preparing data summary reports, and developing or reviewing sampling work control documents.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry, Biology, Geology, Engineering, or other Environmental-related studies. 
• Minimum of 3 years relevant experience. Relevant experience includes performing environmental field work, developing field work plans, sample plans, quality assurance plans, or similar, compiling, evaluating, interpreting and reporting analytical results. 
• Effective communication skills and ability to work with various different organizations. 
• Ability to maintain professionalism in handling complex sampling events or projects.
• Ability to work in inclement weather, both in heat and cold, and lift up to 50 lbs., or 1/3 of body weight.
• Must have or be able to obtain OSHA 40-hour HazWoper and Radiological Worker II. Must have or be able to obtain respirator qualification.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel is highly desired. 
• Must be capable of obtaining an "L" clearance.
