Environmental Services (EVS) Floor Technician

In this important role, you will be responsible for the cleaning, care, and maintenance of all flooring surfaces throughout the hospital, helping to ensure a safe, sanitary, and welcoming environment for patients, visitors, and staff.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform daily and project-based floor care, including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, stripping, waxing, buffing, burnishing, and carpet shampooing.
• Operate and maintain specialized floor care equipment such as auto-scrubbers, buffers, burnishers, and carpet extractors.
• Safely handle and apply cleaning chemicals according to SDS and hospital policies.
• Ensure safety signage and precautions are in place during floor care to prevent slips, trips, and falls.
• Perform detail cleaning of baseboards, edges, and high-traffic areas.
• Monitor and report supply needs, equipment malfunctions, or safety concerns.
• Provide professional, courteous service when interacting with patients, staff, and visitors.
• Assist EVS team with general cleaning tasks as needed.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Education: High school diploma or equivalent.

Experience:

• Previous floor care or housekeeping experience in healthcare or hospitality preferred.
• Ability to safely operate and maintain floor care equipment.
• Knowledge of cleaning chemicals, safety protocols, and infection prevention practices (training provided).
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
