Job Overview
Title: Environmental Supervisor Job Family: Environmental, Health, & Safety Reports to: EH&S Director Works with: mid-level managers and supervisors, employees Location: East Camden, AR, USA Type: Full-Time Job Summary The Environmental Supervisor helps to maintain Armtec’s compliance with an effective environmental management system. The Supervisor also helps to ensure Armtec’s compliance with applicable Safety and Environmental regulations, administered through OSHA, EPA, DOT, SCAQMD, as well as the Regional Water Quality Control Board. Roles include: Assists in the protection of the workforce and the environment; Maintains OSHA, EPA, State Water Board and SCAQMD (Air Quality) permits; generates Environmental reports at expected frequencies; Maintains records of emissions to the environment and records to prove compliance to regulations. Assist in hazardous materials emergencies; educates the workforce on Safety and Environmental regulations. Works closely, and cross trains with Safety. Performs limited safety technician duties on a needs be basis. Primary Responsibilities
Maintains environmental records, properly store records to ensure that objective evidence of regulatory compliance is available for federal, state, and local regulators’ inspections.
Position requires employees to be cross-trained or transfer to other programs, or departments by incorporating them into a team environment as requested.
Provides employee training in the area of HAZCOM and Safety compliance.
Help to maintain the HAZCOM program and generate Safety Data Sheet files as needed.
Generates emissions logs specific to processes; trains the workforce on log use; collects logs.
Generates periodic reports; inspects storm water runoff; consolidates, packs, logs, and labels waste generated around the plant.
Maintains proper labeling and placarding of containers, transport vehicles, and buildings; maintains instructions, equipment, and materials for use in hazardous and non-hazardous substance emergencies.
Maintains work instructions to facilitate company compliance; conducts periodic testing of ground water from monitoring wells, and storm water; delivers samples to off-site labs for analysis.
Conducts routine sampling of waste stream for analysis and profiling.
Orders and maintains water quality testing supplies; records and reports result of tests accurately, enters the data in the computer, monitors for trends, and reports results regularly;
Assists in the corrective action process by effectively reporting non-compliance or potential non-compliance issues to the area operators, supervisors, engineers, Environmental Manager and the Process Engineering Manager.
Conducts work safely, in an orderly and systematic manner; communicates instructions and information effectively; maintains experience using computer software, such as Microsoft Word, Excel, etc.
Ability to adhere to all work instructions per applicable MSPIs, SDS, safety, and environmental procedures
Maintain the highest ethical standards, even when challenged from above
Understand and live by Armtec’s ethics and business conduct policies
Qualifications
Five years’ experience in Environmental Health and Safety environment or equivalent industrial experience in high hazard industry.
Computer Literate: Able to use Microsoft Office products. Adaptable to other applicable software use for the EMS program.
The ability to work independently in a logical and methodical manner; physical inspection, sampling, and test protocol.
Familiarity with substance characteristics like toxicity, reactivity, ignitability, corrosivity, as well as
Familiarity characteristics like suspended solids, dissolved solids, temperature, turbidity; chlorine content, etc.
Skilled in use of analytical instruments like the pH meter, conductivity meter, turbidity meter, liquid chromatograph, particle counter, etc.
RCRA/DOT, hazardous waste operations, and emergency response training must be obtained;
Must have a high school diploma or equivalent
Must be able to speak, write, and read basic English
College degree, chemistry basics, or commensurate training & work experience in EH&S field.
Forklift certification
Hazardous materials first responder certification
Basic Math skills
Must be dependable, responsible, and accurate and have the ability to deal with people effectively.

Minimum 5 years related explosives manufacturing experience and/or training. Certifications as noted above Work Hours 4/10 workweek 1st and 2nd Shift To Apply
