Position Overview:
As an Environmental Technician, you’ll ensure fuel facilities meet the highest standards of safety and environmental compliance. This full-time, field-based role includes maintaining regulatory standards across multiple locations, conducting inspections, and offering on-call spill response support. Some office work will also be required.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform monthly inspections to ensure equipment complies with NYS DEC, EPA, and company standards.
  • Conduct operations and maintenance checks on spill prevention and fuel equipment.
  • Track and record monthly cathodic protection readings.
  • Schedule repairs or replacements for equipment not meeting regulatory standards.
  • Review inspections, address environmental concerns promptly, and ensure compliance across sites.
  • Provide on-call 24-hour support for spill response and advise customers on compliance procedures.
  • Communicate effectively with team members and customers, troubleshooting technical issues when necessary.
  • Potential for traveling to customers across NYS which would require overnight stays.

What We’re Looking For:

  • A self-motivated, detail-oriented individual with a passion for safety and environmental compliance.
  • Technical skills in mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems, with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues.
  • Effective communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs., work in various weather conditions, and travel to multiple locations.
  • Valid NYS Driver’s License, with HAZWOPER certification preferred (not required).
  • Basic computer skills and the ability to perform essential math and record-keeping tasks.
