General Responsibilities
1. Enzyme Recovery and Analytical Support: perform enzyme recovery analysis to support nutritionist-led studies, pelleting research, and customer validation efforts. Assess enzyme survivability through feed processing and pelleting to ensure enzyme efficacy through the animal's gut. Generate high-quality analytical data to support product development, validation, and commercialization of Novus's enzyme platform.
2. Sample Login and LIMS Administration: manage the centralized sample login process for all R&D laboratory samples, including those from CROs, external customers, vendors, suppliers, and internal researchers. Log all incoming samples into the LIMS system, ensuring accurate documentation and traceability. Prepare samples for analysis, including grinding, splitting, labeling, and storage.
3. Sample Coordination and External Lab Management: prepare and ship all samples to external laboratories when required. Serve as the primary point of contact for follow-up with external labs regarding sample status, data delivery, and issue resolution. Receive, review, and enter analytical data from external laboratories into LIMS.
4. Customer, Sale and Internal Support: provide sample receipts, status updates, and analytical information to customers, sales teams, and internal stakeholders. Ensure timely communication and responsiveness to internal and external partners.
Knowledge/Experience Requirements
. Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Animal Science, Biochemistry, Analytical Sciences, or a related scientific discipline.
. Laboratory experience in analytical testing, sample preparation or enzyme-related analysis.
. Experience with LIMS systems or strong aptitude for laboratory data management systems.
. Strong attention to detail and ability to manage high volumes of samples and competing priorities.
. Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams, including R&D, sales, regulatory, and external partners.
Skills and Other Essential Requirements
. Experience with enzyme recovery testing or feed processing applications.
. Strong organizational and process-management skills.
. Customer-focused mindset with the ability to support both internal and external stakeholders.
. Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
. Ability to work in a laboratory environment and handle biological and chemical samples.
. Compliance with laboratory safety and PPE requirements.
