Job Description - EPMO Project Manager III - Career Growth Potential

ARES is seeking an experienced Project Manager to provide remote project management support to develop, codify, normalize and manage processes for projects and risks in support of the NASA Enterprise Multimedia and Integrated Technical Services (eMITS) contract. eMITS is the Agency’s enterprise-level contract creating and delivering multimedia and technical communications through the use of the internet, digital platforms, and IT management for NASA’s Office of the Chief Information Officer (OCIO) and Office of Communications (OCOMM). From photographing rocket launches and recoveries, to producing NASA TV segments, to information technology management, to using social media to share NASA’s message, eMITS integrates services for NASA IT and provides NASA’s communication to the outside world.

This position will include but not be limited to the following activities:

  • Responsible for providing requirements for SharePoint Online systems to collect, store, and maintain documentation.
  • Provide enhancements to the Content Management System by providing scalable requirements for SharePoint Online.
  • Develop policies and procedures that ensure that the documents of the organization are properly stored and easily accessible.
  • Create and maintain a records management system that captures all record control requirements, ensures they are in the correct versions and is updated as necessary.
  • Collaborates with NASA SharePoint design team to review website and application requirements for Content Management Systems.
  • Leads a Working Group of Content Managers to ensure alignment on process.
  • Collaborates with Records Management to ensure OCIO is meeting records retention schedules, including retaining content, deleting content automatically upon expiration, triggering disposition reviews, deleting old content without retention, or leaving content as-is based on trigger events, or create, last modify, last label date/time stamps
  • Develops the framework for a fully functional Electronic Records Management strategy.
  • Establishes Standard Operating Procedures for Content Managers to ensure repetitive tasks are completed consistently.
  • Reviews end-user communication for new system features.
  • Identifies risks and creates mitigation strategies related to Content Management
  • Provides system training to staff and customers.
  • Supports the daily operations of Enterprise Program and Project Management Office.

This position will be responsible for providing the following deliverables:

  • Policy and Process for Content Management.
  • Project Lifecycle documentation to support the selection and use of a Content Management System.
  • Working Group Charter and processes for Content Management.
  • Provides Weekly Status Updates to support Management review of progress.
  • Create, track and report on Risks for Content Management.
  • Document requirements to feed Enterprise solution tools.

Remote, hybrid, and onsite positions the employee bears travel costs to nearest NASA Center for badging and issue of NASA IT equipment.

Minimum Requirements:

  • 8+ years of project management experience
  • 3-5 years of content management spanning business/mission (outcomes/impacts), tactical (project planning/execution), and operational (service/product delivery)
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
  • Experience with Risk Management and best practices.
  • Experience using tools for requirements gathering and implementation.
  • Experience in creating and maintaining Integrated master schedules and applying earned value management techniques (desired, not required)

Proficient in Microsoft Office 365 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Lync, Teams, OneNote, One Drive), SharePoint, and Box.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint
  • Strategy Management (desired, not required)
  • ITIL Certification (desired, not required)
  • Microsoft SharePoint (desired, not required)
  • Microsoft Project (desired, not required)

Education and Relevant Work Experience:

Minimum education - BA/BS in Project Management, Communications, Business Administration, or an IT related discipline

Minimum experience - 8 years
