Status: Full-Time, Year-Round
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Shift: 3:00 PM – 11:00 PM
Reports To: Shop Manager 


Position Summary


T&K Asphalt Services, Inc. is seeking a dependable and motivated Equipment Logistics Associate to support the Company's fleet, yard, and field operations. This position is responsible for safely loading, securing, staging, transporting, and fueling equipment and materials while helping maintain an organized and efficient equipment yard. The Equipment Logistics Associate plays an important role in preparing crews and equipment for the following day's operations and ensuring the Company's fleet is properly positioned and ready for work. This position is open to both entry-level candidates and experienced professionals, and T&K will provide training to the right candidate. Candidates with prior equipment yard, fleet, CDL, hoisting, or construction experience may be eligible for increased compensation based on qualifications.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities



  • Load, unload, move, and stage construction equipment, vehicles, materials, and supplies as directed.

  • Safely secure equipment and materials for transportation in accordance with Company procedures and applicable safety requirements.

  • Fuel trucks, heavy equipment, and other company vehicles and machinery as needed.

  • Prepare and stage equipment, vehicles, tools, and materials for the following day's operations.

  • Assist with setting up crew vehicles with all necessary equipment, materials, tools, and supplies.

  • Maintain an organized and efficient equipment yard, ensuring vehicles, trailers, and equipment are properly staged and accessible.

  • Assist with moving vehicles, trailers, equipment, and materials throughout the yard and between designated locations.

  • Perform basic inspections of equipment and vehicles and report damage, mechanical concerns, leaks, or other issues to the Shop Manager or Fleet Manager.

  • Assist with basic equipment preparation, cleaning, and routine maintenance activities.

  • Maintain accurate records, checklists, and documentation related to equipment movement, fueling, and yard activities.

  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized yard and work environment.

  • Follow all Company fueling, loading, securing, equipment handling, and safety procedures.

  • Properly handle and store fuels, oils, and other materials in accordance with Company procedures and applicable regulations.

  • Assist the Maintenance and Operations Departments with equipment and material preparation.

  • Communicate effectively with the Shop, Fleet, Operations, and field personnel regarding equipment and material needs.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.


Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities



  • No prior experience required; T&K will train the right candidate.

  • Previous experience in construction, equipment yards, fleet operations, landscaping, trucking, or a similar environment preferred.

  • Ability to safely load, secure, move, and stage equipment and materials.

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

  • Ability to work independently and follow written and verbal instructions.

  • Strong commitment to workplace safety.

  • Valid driver's license required.

  • CDL Class A or Class B preferred.

  • Hoisting License preferred.

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a valid DOT Medical Card.

  • OSHA training preferred.

  • Ability to communicate effectively with Shop, Fleet, Operations, and field personnel.

  • Willingness to learn new equipment, procedures, and responsibilities.

  • Reliable attendance and ability to work the assigned shift.


Working Conditions / Physical Demands



  • Work is performed primarily outdoors in the company yard, with additional work in shop and equipment areas.

  • Frequent exposure to extreme weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, snow, wind, and humidity.

  • Regular exposure to trucks, trailers, heavy equipment, moving vehicles, and mechanical equipment.

  • May work around fuels, oils, lubricants, hydraulic fluids, and other potentially hazardous materials.

  • Must follow all applicable fueling, equipment handling, environmental, and safety procedures.

  • Frequent standing, walking, bending, stooping, reaching, climbing, lifting, and manual handling throughout the workday.

  • Must be able to lift, carry, push, pull, and maneuver equipment, tools, and materials weighing up to 80 pounds.

  • Must be able to stand or sit for extended periods.

  • Exposure to moderate to loud noise levels associated with trucks, heavy equipment, and active yard operations.

  • Work may continue into evening and nighttime hours.


Employment Conditions



  • This is a full-time, year-round position.

  • The regular shift for this position is 3:00 PM – 11:00 PM.

  • Overtime, weekends, holidays, and extended hours may be required based on operational needs.

  • The schedule may occasionally vary based on company operations, weather conditions, snow events, emergency needs, or seasonal workload.

  • Participation in snow operations and other emergency operational activities may be required as assigned.

  • Starting pay is $21.00 per hour, with opportunities for higher compensation based on CDL credentials, hoisting certifications, relevant experience, and demonstrated skills.
