Equipment Operator with CDL

Purpose of the position: Operate, Transport, and Maintain equipment per company policy and standards.

Requirements: 

• Experience as an Equipment operator.


• A CDL Class A license for transportation of Equipment.


• Candidate must possess the ability to communicate effectively with Project Superintendent and Project Crew while being able to provide direction.


• A self-starter that is detail oriented with the ability to complete multiple tasks with consistency and accuracy.


• The ability to adapt to change. The capabilities to think ahead, identify and resolve potential problems and the ability to learn quickly.


• Candidate must possess knowledge of standard commercial construction practices.


• Some mechanical skills required for basic repairs and maintenance.


• Knowledge of proper techniques for loading and unloading trailer, to include proper techniques for securing various loads.


• Able to work on construction equipment.


• Familiar with digital tool tracking system and data logging system.


• All other assigned duties.

Equipment includes but is not limited to:

• 3D laser grading equipment and computer applications


• Excavator


• Bobcat           


• Forklift


• Roller 


• Laser Screed is extremely desirable

Goals: Responsible for ensuring that the overall safety and quality during the grading and digging is consistent with company policy and standard building practices.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Safety

• Pre-Operation inspection of equipment and materials.


• Continuously be aware of location of workers around Heavy Equipment.


• Always adhere to proper tie down regulations.


• Perform pre-trip, during, and post-trip inspections of vehicle.


• Always properly load and unload screed from trailer.


• Maintain a CDL in good standing.

Quality

• Communicate with Concrete Coordinator or Project Manager to determine type of work required and equipment necessary to complete tasks.


• Set and check all laser and equipment to proper elevation and slopes.


• Ensure proper calibration of lasers.

Maintenance

• Clean Heavy Equipment after every use.


• Grease necessary components.


• Prepare machine for next use.


• Charging of laser as required.


• Keep additional parts and materials on hand as required.

Time Keeping

• Ensure company policies and procedures are followed when tracking time.


• Follow company cost coding properly (phase-cost code)


• Daily time entries properly cost coded to the specific job required.

Additional Responsibilities:

• Motivate and inspire employees through positive reinforcement and timely feedback on expected safety, quality and productivity related goals.


• Maintain company equipment and vehicles per company procedures and standards.
