Equipment Operator/Truck Driver

Description

The Equipment Operator/Truck Driver position is responsible for operating light equipment or heavy equipment to transfer, spread and load MSW, Clean Wood, C and D waste as well as driving trucks or tractor-trailers for collection services in order to ensure that various materials are transported and disposed of in an appropriate manner.

Requirements

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Operates heavy commercial trucks, tractor-trailers (including tankers) 
• Transfer, spread, cover, load and/or compact solid waste or soil while operating excavators, loaders, landfill compactors, backhoes, tractors and skid steers as well as off-road trucks
• Operate general site vehicles and equipment, such as a compactor
• Perform required pre-trip & post trip inspections and provide required reports 
• Perform preventive maintenance on equipment and vehicles
• Provide outstanding customer service during delivery and pickup operations
• Pick recyclable materials from incoming loads
• Maintain all required certifications required by DOT and OSHA and company safety programs 
• Wash, lubricate and fuel vehicles
• Carry out site grounds maintenance including; picking litter, mowing, weed whipping, street sweeping, plowing and dust control
• Perform other related duties as assigned

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

1.  Have a valid Minnesota CDL Class A

2.  Ability to pass a DOT physical and maintain a valid health card and license 

3.  Ability to lift up 40 pounds 

4.  Driver must be 21 years old per DOT.

5.  High school diploma or GED
