Technical Service Specialist – Commercial Equipment

Hillyard, Inc. is currently seeking a Technical Service Specialist to join our Technical Service team in St. Joseph, MO.

As a Technical Service Specialist, you'll serve as a trusted technical resource, helping resolve complex equipment issues while supporting field technicians, distributors, customers, and our sales team.

What You'll Do

• Diagnose and troubleshoot commercial floor cleaning and maintenance equipment.


• Provide technical support to customers, distributors, field technicians, and internal teams.


• Perform advanced troubleshooting involving mechanical, electrical, and electronic systems.


• Interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and parts documentation to identify and resolve equipment issues.


• Analyze equipment performance and identify trends to recommend corrective actions and product improvements.


• Manage warranty claims and maintain accurate warranty documentation.


• Assist in developing and delivering technical training for technicians, sales teams, distributors, and customers.


• Support product launches, sales meetings, trade shows, and customer training events as needed.


• Partner with engineering, service, and product teams to continuously improve equipment performance and customer satisfaction.

What We're Looking For

• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent required.


• Two or more years of experience repairing, servicing, or troubleshooting commercial, industrial, or mechanical equipment.


• Strong mechanical, electrical, and diagnostic troubleshooting skills.


• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and parts manuals.


• Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to a variety of audiences.


• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.


• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.


• Intermediate computer skills, including Microsoft Office and database applications.


• Willingness to travel and work flexible hours as business needs require.
