Position Overview

We’re seeking reliable and experienced Equipment Transport Drivers to join our expanding team. In this role, you will be responsible for the safe and timely transportation of municipal vehicles and specialized equipment.

Key Responsibilities

• Safely transport municipal and contractor equipment to and from customer sites using company-owned or rented vehicles


• Ensure all equipment is delivered damage-free and on schedule


• Follow designated routes and delivery timetables


• Coordinate return trips with the Sales Operations Supervisor, which may involve working alongside a second driver or using rental vehicles


• Maintain cleanliness and basic upkeep of transport vehicles, including assisting with wash bay duties during slow periods


• Comply with all traffic laws, safety regulations, and company policies


• Accurately record time and mileage on dispatch sheets


• Perform additional duties as assigned

Work Environment & Hours

• Typical working hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM


• Occasionally, earlier start times or later finishes may be required depending on daily assignments


• There may be rare instances requiring overnight stays a few times per year


• Local routes with daily home return; approximately 40–55 hours/week


• Frequent climbing in and out of trucks, vehicle inspections, and fueling, with exposure to various weather conditions


• Road hazards such as accidents, adverse weather, and fatigue risks


• High responsibility for vehicle safety, load securement, and regulatory compliance


• Potential for traffic delays, tight schedules, and customer demands.

Qualifications

• Valid, clean Commercial Driver’s License (CDL Class A) required


• Proven history of safe driving practices and a clean driving record (minimal violations, no DUIs or major offenses within last 3-5 years)


• Must hold a current DOT Medical Card issued by a certified examiner


• Reliable, punctual, safety-focused, and able to work independently


• Strong communication skills
