Ergonomist – Injury Prevention Specialist
We are seeking an experienced part-time Ergonomist – Injury Prevention Specialist for 7-month contract. Our client is seeking a mid-level Ergonomist at their onsite facility. The position is in the Los Angeles area. The position for the first 3 months is 8 hours per week. The second 4 months are slated for 4 hours per week. The schedule can be negotiated with our client.
The IPS will champion proactive safety, job coaching, ergonomic training, and one-on-one engagements with Associates. The goal of the IPS is to improve techniques prior to the onset of soreness or injury. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Minimize the risk of ergonomic injury to employees through awareness, education and early intervention
Dive deep and learn each job function within the FC and understand the body ergonomic and physical demands of each task.
Be actively involved with improvements to the standard work process, evaluating potential poor ergonomic conditions through change management processes
Evaluate trends and provide analysis of all soft tissues injuries and develop actions plans to mitigate risk
Frequent engagements with both associates and operational leaders

Responsibilities
The Ergonomist / Injury Prevention Specialist (IPS) will be expected to proactively analyze tasks for potential ergonomic risk factors, perform biomechanical assessments and lead injury prevention activities. The IPS will champion proactive
Requirements
Experience in an occupational or industrial setting Experience with an industrial wellness program Experience working with a cross functional team.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in ergonomics or a related field of study like sociology, psychology, physiology or applied science
Three or more years of full-time work experience in ergonomics or two years for doctorate degree holders
Strong knowledge of human anatomy and physiology
Experience conducting ergonomic assessments and recommending solutions
Familiarity with relevant regulations and guidelines
Proficiency in using ergonomic assessment tolls and software
CPE Certification
ATC Certification (preferred, however, not required)
Liability Insurance or willingness to obtain
Bi-lingual required
