ERT Supervisors

GovFirst is seeking to hire multiple ERT Supervisors to oversee Emergency Response Team (ERT) operations and Control Room Operators (CRO) across Virginia which includes Bristol, Fredericksburg, Hampton Roads, Norfolk, Newport News, Suffolk, Surry, Salem, Lynchburg, Staunton, Culpeper & Richmond, VA within the Transportation Operations Division.

• Supervise assigned shift ERT personnel and CRO staff, coordinating with VDOT Operations Managers and Tunnel Supervisors/Contract Monitors.
  

• Assign crews for patrols, especially during camera outages or special operations.
  

• Assist with incident management, including responding to disabled vehicles, stranded motorists, roadway debris, spilled loads, crashes, fires, and other traffic obstructions.
  

• Provide real-time updates to VDOT and contractor management, including photos, texts, and status reports of ongoing incidents.
  

• Ensure appropriate equipment and personnel are dispatched for timely incident response.
  

• Direct ERT and CRO teams to ensure proper completion of required documentation, daily task logs, training records, and incident reports.
  

• Provide guidance and support during incidents to clear roadways and protect motorists.
  
  

Requirements

• Experience supervising emergency response personnel and traffic operations teams.
  

• Knowledge of VDOT operations, incident management protocols, and safety regulations.
  

• Strong leadership, decision-making, and communication skills.
  

• Ability to manage multiple crews and respond effectively to emergencies.
  

• Proficiency in documentation and reporting of incidents and crew activities.
