We are a dynamic and growing organization seeking a detail-oriented and deadline-driven individual to assist with financial transactions, maintaining accurate records, and support our accounting processes. The ideal candidate will excel in using Microsoft Office, possess outstanding math and research skills, and demonstrate strong communication abilities to work closely with staff, vendors, and clients. This role requires a high level of confidentiality and exceptional time management skills to ensure accuracy and efficiency in all tasks.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Perform any combination of the following duties according to specific guidelines:
Perform a number of accounting and clerical functions to support Manager.
Support Escrow department with file disbursement
Create and send invoices to clients.
Apply payments to customer accounts utilizing computerized software programs (ResWare, Excel, Word) to perform duties and responsibilities.
Monitor customer accounts for non-payment and/or delayed payment.
Prepare daily bank deposit with occasional runs to the bank.
Monitor deadlines and manage multiple tasks to meet client expectations and billing schedules.
Maintain telephone and personal contact with staff and vendors on payable and receivable matters as directed by the manager.
Willing to take on any additional tasks needed to keep the department running smoothly.
Work at a computer for 8 hours or more per day and the ability to use general office equipment including personal computer, copiers, and 10-key calculator.
Occasional overtime required.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
Proven ability to work collaboratively with internal teams and external clients.
Strong written and verbal communication skills to interact effectively with staff and clients is a must.
Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in financial record-keeping and reporting.
General banking knowledge: preparation of wires, check cutting, making deposits
Outstanding math and research skills to analyze data and resolve discrepancies.
Deadline-driven with excellent time management and organizational skills.
Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive financial and client information.
Knowledge of Microsoft office products (Word, Excel, Outlook) is a requirement.
Understanding of a real estate transaction and HUD1 settlement statements (not required).
Previous experience in an escrow department of a title company (not required).
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND LICENSING
High school diploma and two years of accounting/bookkeeping experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
