Job Description - Escrow Processor

Description

Primary Function: Generate mortgage business and meet with members to discuss and answer questions regarding our mortgage loan financing program guidelines and requirements. Know all mortgage products, parameters, specific rates, terms, and guidelines. Prepare required initial loan estimates, applications, disclosures, closing disclosures, and closing documents, which include attorney settlement instructions.

Duties and Responsibilities:

1.  Serve as the escrow processor for all loans secured by real estate to ensure timely payments for insurance, taxes, and other related fees.

2. Perform required initial, periodic, and yearly escrow analysis.

3. Monitor non-escrow accounts to ensure timely tax payments, and verification of valid insurance.

4. Ensure all mortgage loans originated are compliant with documentation requirements and regulations of Freddie Mac, Fannie Mae, USDA, VA, HUD, CFPB, FHL Bank, and Mortgage Insurance Providers.

5. Originate mortgage loans that are compliant and meet guidelines, documentation, and regulation requirements.

6. Organize the mortgage processing file to meet specific guidelines. Order title work, verification, credit reports, appraisals, and required inspection reports.

7. Know how to research property information using SDAT real property search, Maryland Land Records and Treasurer’s office website for the Tri-County area.

8. Complete all commercial real estate documentation for attorney review.

9. Utilize Keystone to add commercial loan applications and book equipment loans and commercial unsecured lines of credit.

10. Review the completeness of closing documentation received from the Attorneys prior to boarding on our system.

11. Board closed loans to our core system.

12. Be able to open consumer and commercial member accounts as needed.

13. Work with Attorneys, Title Officers, Escrow Officers, Underwriters, Appraisal vendors, Surveyors, and other required third parties on all aspects of the loan life cycle.

14. Be able to read surveys to determine potential encroachment issues.

15. Draft business letters to communicate with members, vendors, and other contacts.

16. Work with third-party vendors to ensure all loan requirements are complete.

17. Enter data into online and automated underwriting systems of various government and private entities as required to determine if the loan meets approval and secondary market requirements.

18. FedEx overnight loan packages to attorneys or secondary market.

19. Complete wires and loan boarding sheets

20. Provide support to members as needed, including but not limited to determining whether subordinating is feasible, handling escrow account payment and deposits, and cross-selling other products.

21. All other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Suggested Qualifications:

1. High School Graduate required, some college preferred.

2. Two or more years of mortgage escrow experience, preferred.

3. Two or more years of experience working with mortgages, preferred

4. Good organizational and communication skills

5. Excellent organizational skills

6. Ability to be licensed with NMLS.

7. Finastra Mortgagebot LOS/POS systems experience preferred.

8. Corelation KeyStone systems experience preferred.

 

Physical Requirements:

1. Visual acuity. Required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; extensive reading on a computer monitor

2. Hearing. Perceiving the nature of sounds at normal speaking levels with or without correction. Ability to receive detailed information through oral communication, either in person or on the phone.

3. Light work. Exerting up to 60 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects. If the use of arm and/or leg controls requires exertion of forces greater than that for sedentary work and the worker sits most of the time, the job is rated for light work.

4. Body motions: Standing, walking lifting stooping, kneeling, crouching, bending, crawling. Pushing and pulling.

5. Fingers and hands: Grasping, picking, pinching, typing or otherwise working, primarily with fingers rather than with whole hand or arm as in handling. Grasping: Applying pressure to an object with the fingers and palm. Making substantial repetitive movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers.
