Essay Grader - Bar Prep

We are seeking an experienced attorney to grade practice essays for our students taking the BARBRI bar review course.

BARBRI essay graders must be proficient in reviewing the law, breaking down difficult concepts, and determining whether the students have correctly grasped what is required of them on bar exam and law school curriculum essays.

The selected candidate(s) will work with BARBRI’s Operations team.


BARBRI Essay Grader Responsibilities:

• Provide detailed critique on bar exam and law school curriculum essays submitted by students




• Guide students towards the preparation of dramatically improved essay responses




• Adhere to grading direction and coaching




• Adhere to strict deadlines




• Work within the BARBRI systems to facilitate grading in a the most proficient manner possible




• Utilize BARBRI systems for grader assistance and automation




• Assist in identifying operational deficiencies and areas for automation, improvement, and redesign

Qualifications:

• Graduate of an ABA-accredited U.S. Law School




• Licensed to practice law in at least one jurisdiction




• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills




• A reliable, high-speed internet connection for remote work




• Excellent analytical skills




• Good interpersonal skills to work with different colleagues and customers




• Self-motivated individual able to work with minimal supervision under tight deadlines in a dynamic environment with competing demands for resources




• Detail oriented with the ability to work efficiently with complex information




• Strong technical aptitude




• High proficiency in Microsoft Office applications. Apple/Mac familiarity is a plus




• Motivated and willing to learn new things
