Position Title: Esthetician

Classification: Exempt/Hourly/Commissioned

Reports To: Department Manager

Department: Skin Care

Job Summary:

Specializes in skin care, waxing, body treatments and make-up to provide client satisfaction with professional education and consultation between the client and esthetician.

Essential Functions:

• Provides a caring environment to all clients and staff members at all times
• Follows About Faces protocol when performing any skincare, waxing and/or make-up consultation or service
• Accountable to achieve key metric goals in Service Sales, Retail Sales, Pre-Booking and Client Retention.
• Supports retail sales area and maintaining it as needed and during downtime.
• Attends all training provided by About Faces to gain knowledge and become proficient with the professional and retail products and services.
• Maintains continuous educational resources to gain knowledge of latest skin care treatments.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Maintains a clean and organized work space at all times.
• Maintains all client records and documentation as required.
• Record services furnished to the client and completes client home care product sales and prescription
• Maintains sanitized and sterilized instruments and equipment in work area.
• Assists in store duties as required by location.
• Maintains company dress code and presents a professional appearance and demeanor.
• Builds and maintains a growing client base. Cross promotes services in other departments.
• Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skill & Abilities:

• Skin Care License/Cosmetology License as required by State of Maryland.
• Computer literate.
• Ability to coordinate and collaborate with staff at all levels.
• Ability to effectively communicate in oral and written communications.
• Proficient in latest salon/spa skin care and waxing techniques.
• Ability to be flexible with schedule.
• Ability to gain knowledge of all retail products and assist clients as needed.
• Ability to respond to requests for service and assistance.

Other:

• On a regular basis, requires the ability to walk including up and down stairs in some locations.
• On a regular basis, requires the ability to reach with hands and arms.
• On a frequent basis, requires the ability to stoop, kneel and crouch.
• On a regular basis, requires the ability to stand for long periods of time.
• On a regular basis, requires the ability to lift and/or move up to 20 lbs.
• On an occasional basis, requires the ability to climb a ladder and balance.
• On a regular basis, requires the ability to speak, listen, hear and maintain color vision.

Work Environment:

The Esthetician will be required to manage a number of responsibilities at one time, and may be interrupted frequently to meet the needs and requests of staff, visitors and clients. The Esthetician may find the environment to be busy, noisy and driven to schedule critical deadlines. Additional responsibilities to support services may differ dependent upon the location. She/he will need excellent organizational, customer service, time and stress management skills to complete the required tasks.
