We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Estimating Assistant to support our Sales, Estimating, and Production teams in preparing accurate and timely quotes for commercial and hospitality furniture projects. This is a fast-paced, deadline-driven position with an opportunity to grow into an Estimator role.
Full-Time | Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM | 1-hour lunch
$18 - $20 an hour
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare accurate and timely cost estimates and customer quotes.
- Review drawings, specifications, measurements, and project details for pricing.
- Calculate material, labor, and other project costs.
- Research and verify material and supplier pricing.
- Enter and maintain pricing information in spreadsheets, templates, and estimating software.
- Communicate with Sales, Production, and Purchasing to gather information needed for quotes.
- Manage multiple quote requests and prioritize urgent deadlines.
- Review quotes for accuracy, missing information, and pricing issues.
- Maintain organized estimating records and assist with quote revisions.
- Support process improvements and other estimating-related tasks.
Qualifications
- Associate degree preferred.
- Previous experience in estimating, administration, customer service, manufacturing, production support, or a similar environment is a plus.
- Strong numerical, analytical, and organizational skills.
- Comfortable working with measurements, dimensions, and basic calculations.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and basic computer applications.
- Excellent communication and follow-up skills.
- Ability to work quickly and accurately under deadlines.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and maintain a strong sense of urgency.
- Self-motivated, dependable, and willing to learn new processes and systems.
- Furniture, upholstery, or manufacturing experience is a plus.
Estimating experience is preferred, but client is willing to train the right candidate.
Pay Range: $18-$20/HR based on experience!
