Estimator

• Review project plans, specifications, and related documents for municipal and private water infrastructure projects
• Prepare detailed cost estimates including materials, equipment, labor, subcontractors, and permitting
• Analyze project timelines, site conditions, and potential risks to develop comprehensive bid proposals
• Perform quantity takeoffs for water mains, service lines, hydrants, valves, and related underground utilities
• Coordinate with project managers, engineers, suppliers, and subcontractors to gather accurate pricing
• Attend pre-bid meetings, site visits, and proposal reviews to fully understand project scope
• Maintain organized records of bid submissions, revisions, and vendor quotes
• Support handoff to operations teams after award, ensuring a smooth transition from bid to build
• Track market pricing trends and update cost databases as needed

• Experience in water, utility, or civil construction estimating
• Strong knowledge of underground utilities, water distribution systems, and construction methods
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, civil plans, and technical specifications
• Proficiency with estimating software, takeoff tools, and Microsoft Excel
• Strong mathematical, analytical, and communication skills
• Ability to juggle multiple bids without crying (publicly)
• Detail-oriented, deadline-driven, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
