POSITION SUMMARY

The role of an Estimator involves precisely calculating the costs of electrical construction projects and presenting the bids accordingly. To excel in this position, one needs to possess a deep knowledge of electrical construction, exceptional analytical abilities, and the capacity to handle multiple projects concurrently while adhering to strict timelines.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Examine and evaluate project blueprints, descriptions, and associated papers to comprehend the extent of the job and the prerequisites of the project.

Prepare detailed estimates for materials, labor, equipment, and other project costs using established procedures and tools such as Microsoft Office, McCormick, Bluebeam, or other electrical estimating software .

Partner with vendors, project managers, engineers, and BIM designers to develop and refine project scopes, schedules, and budgets.

Participate in bid presentations and negotiate with clients to secure contracts for electrical construction projects.

Establish and maintain strong relationships with clients by serving as their primary point of contact and building trust through regular communication and follow-up.

Manage client expectations by setting clear timelines, deliverables, and communication protocols.

Inspections and visits to potential and current work sites as needed

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex technical data and translate it into accurate project estimates.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Proficiency in estimating software and tools.

Familiarity with electrical codes, regulations, and industry standards.

Ability to work independently or in a team environment.

Strong computer proficiency.

Mindset that is geared towards achieving project goals and exceeding the expectations of clients.

Excellent organization and time management skills.

Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Familiarity with industry best practices and standards related to project management.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, construction management, related field, practical electrical field experience

Minimum of 1-2 years’ experience in estimating electrical construction projects.

1-2 year(s) of experience with McCormick, Bluebeam, or other electrical estimating software .
