Position Overview: An Estimator is responsible for developing detailed and accurate cost estimates for complex electrical construction projects. They utilize advanced estimating techniques and collaborate with other departments to ensure comprehensive and competitive bids.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop detailed cost estimates for electrical construction projects, including labor, materials, and overhead.
Analyze project blueprints, specifications, and other documentation to prepare comprehensive estimates.
Coordinate with project managers, subcontractors, and suppliers to gather accurate cost information.
Prepare and present bid proposals and cost breakdowns to senior management and clients.
Conduct site visits to assess project conditions and requirements.
Review and interpret changes in project scope and adjust estimates accordingly.
Mentor and train Estimator 1 staff on estimating practices and procedures.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
5+ years of experience in electrical estimating or construction management.
Advanced knowledge of electrical systems, codes, and construction practices.
Proficiency in estimating software, cost databases, and Microsoft Office Suite.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
