What You Will Be Doing
As an Estimator, you will lead estimating for multifamily and commercial renovation projects, including interior and exterior renovations, clubhouses, roofing, and building envelope scopes. This includes developing accurate budgets, collaborate with clients, subcontractors, and internal teams, identify value engineering opportunities, manage multiple estimates, and mentor junior estimators while supporting preconstruction best practices.
Essential Job Functions
- Lead estimating for multifamily and commercial renovation projects, including interiors, exteriors, clubhouses, roofing, and building envelope scopes.
- Review plans, perform site visits, and prepare accurate estimates from concept through construction documents.
- Solicit and evaluate subcontractor/vendor bids, negotiate pricing, and develop value engineering solutions.
- Prepare budgets, proposals, RFIs, clarifications, and cost analyses to support successful project delivery.
- Collaborate with operations, sales, and business development during preconstruction and project handoff.
- Build and maintain relationships with clients, architects, property managers, developers, and subcontractors.
- Mentor junior estimators and drive continuous process improvements.
- Utilize Sage, Microsoft Office, and estimating software to manage estimates and project documentation.
- Support change order pricing, field cost reviews, and expand the subcontractor network.
- Attend preconstruction meetings, travel up to 25% for site visits and client meetings.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- 5–10+ years of estimating experience in multifamily, commercial, or residential construction, with expertise in both interior and exterior renovation projects.
- Proven experience preparing estimates for clubhouse renovations, unit interior renovations, exterior improvements, roofing, and building envelope systems.
- Bachelor’s degree in construction management, Engineering, or a related field preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant industry experience.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook); Sage and Xactimate experience preferred.
- Detail-oriented, excellent written, and verbal communication skills.
- Self-starter, embrace ambiguity, and uncompromising standards of excellence.
- Ability to travel as needed for job site visits (up to 25%).
