Estimator lll

Position Summary:

Talent Source is seeking an experienced Estimator III to support ship repair projects in San Diego, CA. This role is critical to developing accurate labor and material estimates for large-scale shipyard projects, ensuring competitive bids and successful execution of Navy repair and modernization contracts.

Key Responsibilities:

  Review and interpret Request for Pricing/Request for Quote (RFP/RFQ) solicitation documents.

  
  


• 
  

  Analyze blueprints, drawings, work specifications, and technical data to prepare cost and labor estimates.

  
  


• 
  

  Develop and maintain contact listings for clients, subcontractors, and suppliers to support timely submissions.

  
  


• 
  

  Apply knowledge of ship systems and common trades (welding, outside machinist, pipefitting, electrical, structural, rigging, etc.) to generate accurate estimates.

  
  


• 
  

  Ensure compliance with ship repair specifications, NAVSEA Standard Items, and customer requirements.

  
  

Required Qualifications:

• 
  

  4–8 years of ship repair or shipyard industry experience, preferably from a trade such as Outside Machinist, Pipefitter, or similar.

  
  


• 
  

  Strong understanding of propulsion, auxiliary systems, motors, power generation, fluid systems, and deck equipment.

  
  


• 
  

  Familiarity with bid estimating concepts, practices, and procedures.

  
  


• 
  

  Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.

  
  


• 
  

  Strong communication and collaboration skills with ship’s personnel, subcontractors, vendors, and customers.

  
  


• 
  

  High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

  
  

Salary Range: $75,504.00 – $105,705.60 annually
