Estimator (Low Voltage)

Kaydon Integrated Technologies is seeking a Low Voltage Estimator to join our team. 

In this role, you will be responsible for developing cost estimates for a range of low voltage systems, including telecommunications, access control, intrusion detection and video surveillance systems. This position requires the ability to  accurately interpret plans and specifications to determine the necessary materials, labor, and time required for successful  project completion.  

Responsibilities:
•    Prepare accurate and detailed cost estimates for low voltage telecom, access control, intrusion detection and video                surveillance systems
•    Review project plans, specifications, and related documents to determine the scope of work and required materials
•    Complete take-offs from drawings and prints to determine the number and types of devices that are going to be used,            incorporate them into an actual system, and put together proposals for the customer
•    Collaborate with project managers, foremen, and other stakeholders to gather necessary information for accurate                    estimating
•    Identify and quantify cost factors, such as production time, materials, and labor expenses.
•    Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain competitive pricing
•    Prepare and present detailed proposals and bid documents. Update and maintain a database of historical costs and                project estimates
•    Assist in developing strategies to optimize project costs and improve profitability
•    Work with sales and business development staff in a support effort including sales engineering and proposal writing
•    Work with manufacturers’ representatives and manufacturer sales executives on system layout and design

Qualifications:
•    Proven experience as an estimator in the telecom, access control, intrusion detection and video surveillance systems
•    Strong knowledge of low voltage systems, access control, intrusion detection and video surveillance systems
•    Proficient in estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite 
•    Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and technical documents
•    Effective communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills
