Estimator - Plumbing/Gas/Hydronic Heating

Job Description/Qualifications:

• Identify and pursue potential customers. This includes but is not limited to cold calling
• Assist in onboarding new customers by providing all pertinent information to the Sales Admin and Service Team, along with signed contracts and service applications
• Remaining the point of contact for customers
• Estimating Projects, Special Projects and Plan & Spec - Equipment change-outs, control retrofits, and any non construction project work that supports Plumbing Dept
• Provide estimates and quotes for Plumbing, Gas Fitting and Hydronic Heating including but not limited to Plumbing project quotes, Plumbing work for special projects, installation and repair and replacement
• Site surveys and plan reading
• Developing preliminary project schedules as part of labor take off
• Record and retain all relevant pre-awarded information
• Ensure all materials and hours are accounted for, while sending the quote with a full explanation of work
• Continuously meet with Sales Director and Estimating Director to review pipeline and quotes and ensure financial responsibilities are being met
• Assembling the job scope and working with Install team
• Order materials and coordinate deliveries
• Frequent job site visits

Requirements

Qualifications

• Knowledge of construction processes
• Knowledge of Plumbing, Gas piping and Hydronic heating systems
• Knowledge of  HVAC systems, ductwork, piping and controls
• Ability to read, understand all contract documents related to traditional and design build projects. Successful candidate will possess strong analytical and conceptual skills related to mechanical projects
• Capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously
• Strong interpersonal skills
• Solid presentation/ negotiation skills
• Effective communication skills (written and oral)
• Must have supervisory skills to plan, direct, organize, and control the activities of others with limited supervision
• Decisive individual with a strong mechanical aptitude
• Experience with take-off/estimation software
• Proficient in Wendes, Microsoft Excel, Word and Google docs
• Good organizational skills a must

License Required:

Plumbing Trade license or Equivalent (MA, NH, RI or CT) or Bachelors Degree

Valid Driver’s License

Physical Requirements:

Lifting an average of 50lbs on a daily basis

Ability to safely operate all equipment mentioned in job description

Standing, sitting, bending, stooping, reaching, lifting and walking for extended periods of time
