Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Estimator to join our Irving team, reporting directly to the Chief Estimator. This is an office-based role with excellent mentorship opportunities and the chance to work on landmark projects across the country. You'll be instrumental in preparing comprehensive estimates for structural steel fabrication and erection projects while helping develop the next generation of estimating talent.

Key Responsibilities

• Execute computer-aided and hand take-off estimates of structural steel components
• Perform take-offs for all types of structural steel components and typical detail requirements
• Develop and apply labor standard components to project estimates
• Prepare complete estimate documentation and supporting materials
• Review vendor and sub-tier quotes to ensure scope compliance with contract documents
• Produce estimate summaries identifying basic requirements, special requirements, and buy-out items
• Mentor and train Estimators in Training positions
• Collaborate with Chief Estimator on complex project estimates

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years of estimating experience in construction industry
• Proven experience in steel fabrication and steel erection processes (required)
• Construction industry experience (required)
• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering OR Construction Management (required)
• Strong understanding of structural steel components and detailing requirements
• Proficiency in computer-aided estimating software and manual take-off methods
• Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail
• Strong communication and collaboration abilities
