Estimator (Transit Rail CBTC Project)

We are hiring a qualified Estimator to support cost development and analysis for a CBTC Program managed by MARTA. This position involves preparing detailed construction cost estimates across civil, track, signal, communications, and systems disciplines.

Essential Functions:

• Prepare multi-discipline cost estimates for transit infrastructure work (track, comms, electrical, structural, CBTC)


• Review contractor bids and analyze cost proposals


• Support value engineering exercises and risk-based cost reviews


• Coordinate with project controls and procurement staff

Required Skills:

• Proficiency in estimating software (e.g., RSMeans, Sage Estimating)


• Ability to interpret engineering drawings and specs across multiple trades


• Strong cost modeling and Excel analysis skills

Education & Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field


• 5+ years in cost estimating for large transit or infrastructure projects

Work Environment:

• Primarily office-based with some visits to construction sites or client facilities (e.g., MARTA offices or rail yards) with remote work flexibility.


• Exposure to a team-oriented setting with interaction among engineers, project controls, procurement, and contractors.


• Occasional site visits may elicit exposure to construction-related noise, dust, and outdoor conditions.
  

Physical Demands:

• Proficiency in estimating software (e.g., RSMeans, Sage Estimating)


• Ability to interpret engineering drawings and specs across multiple trades


• Strong cost modeling and Excel analysis skills
