Job Title: Electrical Electrical Estimator (Solar)
Job Description:
Our focus is on "Doing right by our community and the environment that sustains it." As a Solar Electrical Engineer, you'll be able to help toward this by assisting in electrical estimation and electrical engineering for Solar projects across the US.
Responsibilities:
Analyze project specifications, drawings, and documents to prepare comprehensive and competitive bids
Develop precise cost estimates for commercial and utility scale projects
Collaborate with distributors, project managers, and engineers to gather essential information for accurate estimations
Conducting in-depth cost analysis, considering material, labor, equipment, and overhead costs
Evaluating potential risks and uncertainties associated with projects and incorporating contingencies into estimates
Staying informed about market trends, pricing, and industry benchmarks to ensure competitive and accurate estimates
Preparing and submitting well-organized and professional bid packages according to project requirements and deadlines
Collaborating with the business development team to review bid strategies and ensure alignment with company goals
Vendor and Subcontractor Relations
Sourcing and negotiating with vendors and subcontractors to obtain competitive pricing and favorable terms
Maintaining strong relationships with key suppliers and subcontractors to enhance the company's competitiveness
Ensure that proposals align with project specifications and requirements
What to bring (Job Requirements):
Experience:
Estimating: 4 years (Preferred)
Electrical: 4 years (Preferred)
Language:
English
Spanish
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or related field
3+ years of related work experience in the estimation, design, construction, commissioning, and/or operation of PV solar,
Experienced in Excel, HeavyBid, PVBid, or any estimating equivalent
Familiarity with Solar concepts such as module technologies, single axis trackers, inverters, transformers, and string sizing, DC/AC ratio, GCR, etc.
Ability to produce high-quality technical reports to predefined deadlines
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
A flexible and proactive approach to project delivery with good organizational and project management skills
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Familiarity with software packages such as Microsoft Office Suite
